As part of the National Social Life, Health and Aging Project, the University of Chicago conducted a study of more than 3,000 American adults, ages 57 to 85. The focus was on older men, using the logic that these men would (a) be more likely than their younger counterparts to have sexual problems and (b) they are also more likely to experience “partner betweenness”, since over time a couple's social circles tend to overlap.
