Just having a successful product does not, and cannot, make you a successful business. It also does not automatically make you a valued member of your community. Perhaps more today than ever, how you operate your business determines your value to others and ultimately your success. That’s why I was so pleased when, a few days ago, we received an email from our area Better Business Bureau informing us that Bonro Medical had been nominated for a Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.

According to the Better Business Bureau, the Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics are designed to recognize businesses that go above and beyond in serving their customers, suppliers, employees and communities. They recognize businesses for their commitment to maintaining a culture that consistently sets exceptionally high standards of behavior. Furthermore, the awards highlight the importance of fulfilling a company’s obligation to the marketplace to do what is right and fair. We couldn’t be more satisfied that these are the traits others see in Bonro Medical. It’s what every employee here strives for every day, from the first day on the job.

To give you a little “behind the scenes” insight, I’d like to share just a bit the Bonro Medical guidelines that govern our behavior on an everyday basis. We feel so strongly about operating in the most ethical manner possible, that we put our beliefs, goals and requirements in writing. We consistently coach and train all of our personnel in that area to ensure it stays top of mind. Of course, our Mission Statement is at the core of our business and our beliefs: “To provide each customer the opportunity to greatly improve their quality of life while successfully managing their health needs with the most complete line of natural health products and medical equipment available, provide exceptional products at the very best price possible, and ensure each customer has a pleasant experience during each and every contact with Bonro Medical, Inc.” This is not just a slogan hung on a wall or buried in an employee manual. It’s a part of who we are, individually and collectively. It’s how we do business.

Our employee manual does contain some material that might surprise you. There are requirements (not goals or suggestions, but requirements) that we “act with the highest degree of professionalism, ethics and integrity.” We must always “act in the best interest of Bonro clients,” even when that means losing a sale or referring them elsewhere. Everyone at Bonro Medical from the first-day entry level employee to me, the President, is bound to “serve as a model of good citizenship” and “be vigilant to the effects of Bonro Medical products and services on the community.”

Those probably aren’t the norm for a sales driven business’ employee manual. But, at Bonro Medical it’s what we believe, who we are and the way we live. It’s important to us. And we are so very grateful that the Better Business Bureau and others have taken notice. If you or a family member is ever in need of Durable Medical Equipment or our patented Vacurect™ vacuum therapy device for the treatment of Erectile Dysfunction, I hope you’ll give us the opportunity to show you how we do business here. We’re proud to be so focused on “doing things the right way” and we’re proud that others recognize it.

If you and your doctor think we can help, visit our web site at http://www.bonro.com or give us a call, toll-free at 1-877-266-7699. And please don’t hesitate to call us with any specific questions you may have about our products, their usage and the applicable insurance coverage. We’re Bonro Medical and we’re here to help you.
